Dogo Onsen Station 道後温泉駅

Step into Dogo Onsen via this historic train station

Dogo Onsen Station is a stop for the Iyo Railway local tram and is the closest train station to Dogo Onsen. The station building is a restoration of the original structure built in 1911 and is a prime example of the Western-style architecture popular during the Meiji Era. Make sure to visit the station at night, as this retro-styled building is beautifully illuminated against the night sky. Dogo Onsen Station is also the terminal for the beloved Botchan Train, a steam locomotive that was in service for 67 years from 1888. In front of the station, you'll find a tourist information center, the Hojoen Plaza featuring the famous Botchan Mechanical Clock, and an entrance to the Dogo Onsen Shopping Street.
